Forget About "New Age": Tap Into The Ancient Wisdom in Psalms and Proverbs [ August 5th, 2008 ] Posted in » Spiritual Marketing

psalmsMany years ago, after reading many "new age", self-help, and personal development books by some of the most poular authors out there, I made what to me was an important discovery:

The foundation of all the teaching and advice in these writings can be found in scripture such as the Bible and the eastern Bhagavad-Gita.

So now, for wisdom, inspiration, instruction, and advice, I go straight to the source: scripture.

I was pleasantly reminded of this after reading a wonderful post by Cameron Schaefer on Schaefer's Blog entitled "7 Proverbs for Skilled Living".

Like me, Cameron engages in daily reading of scripture:

Nearly every morning for the past 5 years I have sat down and read a chapter from the book of Proverbs.  Since there are 31 in all it sets up nicely for reading one a day.  It continues to amaze me the depth of wisdom found in each chapter covering every area of life from relationships to money to career advice.  - Cameron Schaefer

Since Cameron shared some wisdom from Proverbs, I would like to offer the following from Psalms:

Internet Marketing Strategies Before (Link Building) and After (Traffic Building)

This post was inspired by Jerry West.

I used to love those cheesy before and after pictures you would find in advertisements for fitness or weight-loss products.

Here's a recent one of Arnold.

I don't mean to be cruel, but it looks like age is catching up to The Terminator.

Or is it politics?

Why Are Internet Marketers Blogging?

blogging for internet marketers

The obvious answer to this question is that internet marketers are blogging to make money online.

Many internet marketing blogs are really collections of mini sales letters for affiliate programs.

I admit to being guilty of this.

Most of these blogs also sprinkle in some "how-to" guides and product reviews that do serve a purpose, especially for beginners.

Authority Sites are Best for Internet Marketing

Let’s take a look at what is meant by "quality content delivers quality traffic", as an internet marketing strategy.

First of all, one of the basic principles of marketing is that most people do not buy something until they have seen the offer or advertisement between 5 to 12 times.

The common way this is applied in online marketing is as follows:

Advertisement ==> Opt-in Page ==> Autoresponder

In this way the marketer attracts prospects to an opt-in page, also known as a squeeze page, and offers an enticement to capture the visitor’s name and email address.

These enticements are usually a free ebook or a free 5 day course on the topic of interest.

Once the marketer has the prospect in the autoresponder, they can then send multiple marketing emails to this person.

Pretty straightforward.

An alternative is to create an Authority Site:

A site that is well researched in its market niche, optimized for the search engines, and provides quality content for its visitors.
