In the sales and marketing industry, especially in network marketing and internet marketing, personal development and self-help are very popular pursuits.

Most network marketing companies actively encourage their members to read such classics as "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill.

This makes good sense for the individuals from all walks of life who aspire to become entrepreneurs.

My own interest in this area began when I was in my mid-thirties, a little over 10 years ago, when I realized that I was dissatisfied with my life and I wanted to make some changes.

I read books by Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Napolean Hill, and a host of others.

When I read "The Power of Postive Thinking" series by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, I made an important realization:

It occurred to me that all personal development and self-help concepts had a foundation in spiritual teachings.

This can easily be seen in "The Power of Positive Thinking" where Dr. Peale actively advocates the use of passages from the Bible to overcome fears, increase self-motivation and become more productive.

So I have decided to create a category on this marketing blog called "Spiritual Marketing."

What you will find in this category is an examination of  popular self-help concepts, their origin in scripture, and simple, practical ways to use these principles to becomes better marketers, and better people.

You will also find an open, often personal, and revealing account of my trials, tribulations, successes, and failures in applying spiritual teachings to marketing and life.

We all face similar challenges, fears, hopes, and dreams.

It is my hope that through spiritual marketing we can come to realize that we are in this together and we can find what we are looking for.
