How To Increase Your Blog Traffic With Google Social Bookmarking
The latest news in the social marketing field is that Google opted not to purchase Digg but decided to roll out its' own social bookmarking service.
They added many social bookmarking features to Google Reader:
- a friend's list
- RSS feed item sharing
- commenting on blog posts
- a blog recommendation engine based on your friend's feeds
The good news is that Chris Lang, a social marketing maven and author of a terrific ebook called "Wickedly Evil Social Marketing Tactics", is one step ahead of everyone else when it comes to using Google Reader's social bookmarking features to drive traffic to your blog.
He has written a 3 part series on "Google Social Bookmarking", which includes how to get set up, how to add a Google profile, and how to add friends.

If you're interested in finding out how to use social marketing strategies to double the traffic to your blog, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Chris' ebook: "Wickedly Evil Social Marketing Tactics".
It's newly updated to include information on Google Reader and Chris exposes the real truth about Google and Digg in a no-nonsense style that will knock your socks off!
And that's not all, at the time of this writing, Chris is making the following offer:
"For a short time, you can get a 30 minute, one-on-one consultation with me, Chris Lang, the social bookmarking
white hat expert. My normal fee for a half hour consultation is $97 but it is your free until the open slots in my consultation engine fill up."
Sounds like a good deal to me. I went for it and look forward to picking Chris' brain.
The bottom line is that social bookmarking can help drive a ton of traffic to your blog.
But you need to know how to do it right, because if you don't, it will hurt you.
