5 Tips For On-Page SEO
On-page SEO refers to changes you can make to your web page to achieve both better rankings and higher conversion rates. Remember, it's one thing to get traffic, but the better able you are to convert that traffic, the more productive you will be in your [tag]internet marketing[/tag] efforts.
Here's a short video by Aaron Wall of SEO Book that describes some great on-page [tag]SEO[/tag] tips for Google:
Some of the main points of the video are highlighted here:
1. Make your page easy to navigate. Make the information that you want your visitor to access simple to find and easy to read. Split your posts or articles up with subheadings, use bullet points and lists, insert graphics and/or videos, make your hyperlinks easy to access.
2. Use analytical tools. Track what keywords visitors are using to find your site and discover the all-important stat: the keywords that are converting.
3. Research your competition. See what keywords they are targeting, how they are setting up their pages, what affiliate programs they are promoting.
4. Mix your keywords up. Based on information you've discovered from looking at your own and others' sites, come up with different combinations of your targeted keywords, add some long-tail keywords, and mix these up on your pages.
5. Use internal tags. This will help visitors and search engines locate more pages on your site containing relevant information regarding the tagged keyword.
