Warning:Realities of Being a Top Blogger
Having you ever wondered what it would be like to have a hugely successful blog?
A blog that gets tons of traffic and earns a significant income? I know I do.
Then you are probably asking yourself more questions, such as:
- What challenges would you face?
- How would you deal with the massive amount of feedback you would receive?
- How much time per week would you need to spend managing it?
- Where do the major streams of income come from?
Steve Pavlina addresses these issues, and much more, in a post he wrote back in May called "Confessions of an A-List Blogger."
Read it and you'll discover some fascinating insight into what Steve calls "the reality of being an A-list blogger".
So what would make Steve and A-list blogger?
His blog gets about 2 million visitors per month and has an Alexa rank of 4,000.
And, with regards to monetization, look at this quote from the article:
"… I earn about $40K per month, mostly from joint-venture promotions, advertising, affiliate programs, and donations. Two years ago this site was bringing in about $150/month, and one year ago it was earning around $6K/month, so that’s a pretty nice rate of growth."
I would say that is very successful.
Steve loves to write and is excellent at it.
He runs his blog by himself and focuses on original content, not commenting on other people's posts.
Obviously something I am not doing here but I feel a responsibility to share quality content and give credit where it is due.
Also, I have always thought it to be a good idea to see what successful people are doing and learn from them.
StevePavlina.com is a classic example of a top-notch Authority Site.
