7 Legal Mistakes Made by Internet Marketers

Internet marketing is a business and as such you need to put the appropriate legal protection in place.

Not doing so could not only result in losing your online business, but also leave you open to lawsuits, investigations, and so on.

Michael Young, an attorney specializing in internet marketing and the author of “Internet Marketing Legal Secrets Revealed” has noted :

1. Not structuring your business as a legal entity.

This could endanger your personal assets.

2. Spamming.

The U.S. government now deals very seriously with spammers.

3. Having your website designer steal your business.

This can (and will) happen if you don’t know what you’re doing.

4. Not protecting yourself when outsourcing.

Don’t put yourself in a position where you could end up paying some web designers taxes, workman’s comensation, or unemployment.

5. Ignorance of intellectual property law. You need to know your rights and responsibilities to prevent having your property stolen or violating someone else's rights.

6. Not protecting yourself legally when doing joint ventures.

This could leave you open to thefts, lawsuits, and investigations.

7. Doing illegal business without knowing it.

The web is world-wide but in some countries you cannot do business with certain companies and/or individuals.
