5 Key Ways to Use Keywords When Creating Content for the Web
Article marketing and writing blog posts is a keyword-driven practice.
To be effective at creating content for the web, you need to not only know what keywords to target, but also how to use them in your articles.
When you write an article, or a blog post, you need a strategy to make sure that you can get the maximum benefit in terms of search engine rankings and visitor traffic.
Here are 5 key steps to reap the benefits of SEO and maximize your visitor traffic:
1. Choose Your Main Keyword
You may pick your main keyword for various reasons: search volume, a product name, what you think is a buying keyword, and so on. The important point is to choose a primary keyword that your article will be optimized for.
2. Use Synonyms for Your Main Keyword
Do not overuse your target keyword. This is a mistake made by many article marketers. Instead, come up with some synonyms for your primary keyword and use these throughout your article.
For example, your article may be about weight loss, so you could also use the terms lose weight, fat loss, burn fat, and so on. This will also make your articles easier to read. After all, you want your articles to be human friendly, not just search engine friendly!
3. Include Your Primary Keyword In Your Title
It may even be more effective if you include your primary keyword closer to the beginning of the title of your article.
4. Include Your Main Keyword In Your First Paragraph
This is extremely important for search engine optimization. Make sure that your primary keyword appears as close to the beginning of the first paragraph as possible. It is also a great idea to include one synonym of your target keyword in the first paragraph.
5. Include Your Target Keyword in the Middle and the Bottom
This will ensure that your main keyword has a good degree of prominence. Search engines often pick up the last sentence of a piece of content. It is important to take that extra bit of time when writing articles to optimize for your primary keyword. Why not try to get the most bang for your buck?
Follow these 5 steps and you are well on your way to producing fresh content that will maximize both search engine ranking and visitor traffic.
I hope this article marketing strategy will help you and serve as a handy checklist for you to use when writing content for the web.
